Cameron James Matthews is an actor, known for Freeland (2018), Peter Pan (2019), Notorious Nick (2018) and Trattoria (2012).
Sacramento native and Oakland transplant Cameron began his acting career on stage. Cameron James Matthews started performing in high school as a participant of Poetry Out Loud, which he used as a catalyst to begin his acting career. His first project was the feature film Trattoria starring John Patrick Amendora. Soon after, Cameron moved to the bay area where he began working with Kaiser Permanente Educational Theatre as one of their lead actors for the next 6 years. While continuing to work at Kaiser, Cameron honed his craft by studying at institutions such as Berkeley Repertory Theatre and American Conservatory Theatre. This lead to Cameron working at several of the most esteemed theatres in the bay. Cameron’s Bay Area credits include: Call It Off (Mojo Theatre), One Minute Play Festival (Z Space), Colossal and All Of What You Love (SF Playhouse),VS (TheatreFirst), Peerless and Thomas & Sally (Marin Theatre Company) His latest project, the feature film Freeland, will have its World Premier at SXSW Film Festival 2020. Peter Pan can be seen at CineQuest Film Festival in San Jose. Notorious Nick will be distributed in 2020 where he played a principal role beside Cody Christian (All American). Cameron recently worked on his first international film in the Caribbean "Deep Blue".
